handmade vs technology

we no longer live in a 'workmanship' society.

what affects does this have on architecture and design? what affects does this have on the way you design?

has our dependency on technology enhanced our designing abilities or has it crippled our designing abilities? if so in what ways.

I believe technology has enhanced our ablities. We not only can create buildings that were only figments of an imagination but we can also make the more traditional buildings better with computer technology. Don't get me wrong I do still belive in 'handmade' work because of the sense of pride & it gets me more 'in the zone'!

i too feel that technology has enhanced our designing abilities. it's as if the saying 'the sky is the limit' is true and we are capable of building anything that we design. i do feel that in this process, we have lost a certain handcraftsmanship...if that's even a word...
